Hebrew & Comparative Literature - Introduction
The Department of Hebrew and Comparative Literature offers studies
in both Hebrew and world literature. The comparative framework introduces
the student to different cultural trends, theories and genres in
the history of literature, and emphasizes the affinities between
literary phenomena in a
variety of cultural contexts.
In addition to acquiring knowledge of literary works, students will
develop interpretative, analytical and critical skills and enhance
their writing
competence.
The curriculum of the Department includes two programs:
1.Hebrew Literature
2. Comparative Literature. A student of one program is required
to take the equivalent of 12 points from the other program, in order
to
facilitate dual, panoramic framework, for conceiving literary texts
in wide contexts.
